Hello, smallistas. My name is Vivaldo Simão. I'm graduated in Linguistic and Literary Studies, but I was invited by a private school to teach basic English. I'm self-taught in English. I learned it listening to music and watching movies and series. I love american and british rock. My fav bands are The Smiths (my really favourite band), The Cure, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Joy Division, Doors, R.E.M, Nirvana, U2, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, CAKE, Strokes, Arcade Fire... I like folk music too. I love M.P.B. I'm a musician too. I play guitar and sing professionally. If you search for Vivaldo Simão on YouTube you can find some videos. They are not professional. I'm very addict to literature. I Love George Orwell. I write poemas on a blog. I published a book "12 poetas de Oeiras". And i'm very fan of Gavin.

Dude - I'm super-impressed with your English. I love most of those bands too, and how could you not love George Orwell..?! Have you ever read any E.M. Forster, like his short story The Machine Stops? Pretty great stuff. I look forward to your contributions here - we sound a lot alike.

Man, what a surprise! Thank you for watch and comment my videos. It's very awesome! Thank you so much for your words here. For coincidence, a few days ago, a person with a nick "Resist" told me on PalTalk: "Your grammar is very bad! Terrible!", and i wondered: "Is it serious or that person is a fake 'trolling' me?" (by the way, do americans use the word troll as a verb. It is very popular here: "Ele está me trollando"). A compliment like that, coming from you, a person that i really admire, is wonderful, man. Tell me about my accent on Hey that's no way to say goodbye's video. And how about it: . My Literature specialization article (academic work) is named: The Political and Social Importance of Studying 1984 (my favourite book, by the way). Obviously i love brazilian writters too: Machado de Assis is great. Clarice Lispector. Luís Fernando Veríssimo (read him), Jorge Amado, Lima Barreto, Fernando Sabino, some poets: Drummond, Quintana... And brazilian artists like Legião Urbana (my fav brazilian band). Did you know Legião recorded two songs in english? Listen Mariane and The feedback song for a dying friend (Renato Russo wrote that lýrics to Cazuza), Engenheiros do Hawaii (and they also have an unpublished album in english), RPM, Kid Abelha, Los Hermanos (sometimes they sound like Cake, like in Todo Carnaval tem seu fim), and MPB artist. And about E. M. Foster, what a coincidence: the last book i read was Maurice. I didn't like it very much, but I'd like to read more of him. Well, once more, thank you.
