Phrasal verbs, aii os phrasal verbs que tanto cabelos brancos nos criam... Desde que voltei a dedicar-me novamente a estudar inglês, nunca ouvi falar tanto em phrasal verbs na minha vida! Apesar de eu estar familiarizada com muitos, obviamente, não os conheço todos e acho que nunca conhecerei. Vai daí, lembrei-me de criar esta thread com o objectivo de irmos colocando um phrasal verb por dia, com o seu significado e exemplos em que pode ser usado. Eles são tantos que, com certeza, ao tentar decorá-los vamos manter o cérebro tão ocupado que nem o Alzheimer lá entra! Começo então com um que aprendi hoje (e que originou a ideia para o post): 1# Bundle UpMeaning: to wear enough clothing to keep very warm (vestir roupa, normalmente em camadas, para se manter suficientemente quente) Example: "You’d better bundle up because it’s below freezing outside." (tradução literal: "É melhor agasalhares-te bem porque está para baixo de um gelo lá fora" expressão em português: "É melhor agasalhares-te porque está um frio de rachar lá fora" Espero que achem útil e que todos possamos contribuir com os phrasal verbs mais úteis e também os mais estranhos que encontrarmos!

2# Take it easy
Meaning: Make something with calm, or to calm down yourself
Example: Take it easy bro you don't wanna go to the jail, ( basicamente pedir para uma pessoa ir com mais calma ou se acalmar ).

Meaning: become happier
Example: She cheered up when she heard the good news.

Meaning: to begin doing something for the first time, often a hobby
Example: Once she retired, she took up tennis. Her son had already taken up tennis at the age of 4.
Another meaning: to occupy (space)
Example: The fat man took up a lot of space on the bus. But his bicycle took up even more!

#5 Snuggle (up/down)Meaning: to move yourself into a warm and comfortable position, especially one in which your body is against another person or covered by something Examples:The children snuggled up to their mother to get warm (my daughter does this every morning just to stall because she doesn't want to go to school ) I was just snuggling down into my warm bed when my phone rang.

Meaning 1: start to lead domesticated life; to become stable. Examples: He wants to live in the country, settle down, raise up a family. Find a girl, settle down
If you want, you can marry

Meaning 2: become calmer. Example: Stop interrupting me! Settle down!
Meaning 3: become comfortable. Example: Feel at home, settle down.

Meaning: To invite someone to do something, like have a date, lunch, dinner and so on.
Ex: He's gonna ask her out.

Meaning: to become better than before.
Example: I had no idea when I tried to read an English book for the first time. But now I'm getting better 'cos I'm studying three days a week.
#Call off
Meaning: to decide something won't happen or to stop something
Example: I called off my travel on vacations 'cos I have no money. Hey, man. Call off your dog!
#Put off
Meaning: to make someone not want to do something, or to make someone not like someone or something; to delay doing something
Example: I put off my English class, I'm gonna watch TV.
I didn’t like the place. I was put off by it.
